An epic journey spanning the entire Canadian north
The magnitude of this journey is as immense as the country in which it travels. From April 2006 to February 2007, three northern torches bring the spirit of the Games to every region of Canada’s territories, culminating in the Games Opening Ceremonies on February 23, 2007.
The Torch Relay covers over 100,000 km, visits 83 communities, highlights unique places in each territory with a special Torch Challenge, and involves all forms of northern transportation. Through the Torch Relay, citizens throughout the North have the opportunity to be a part of the Games and to share in the spirit of this amazing event.
The 2007 Canada Games Torch Relay is made possible through partnerships with the Canadian Forces, Parks Canada, the R.C.M.P. and the Pan North Partners, the governments of Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
