Thanks for volunteering!

The 2007 Canada Winter Games Host Society would like to thank its 4000 or so volunteers who braved an intense cold front and some very busy times to make our Games the best ever.

From the moment the first athlete plane landed at Whitehorse International Airport, volunteers stepped up to the plate and deliver exceptional service to the Games-time guests.

The cold meant a higher risk of athlete injury at the outdoor venues. A dedicated team of medical volunteers made sure athletes were well treated for their aches and pains.

Transportation volunteers went beyond the call of duty time and time again, making sure athletes, coaches, media and Games observers made it to their destination.

Great food, fun activities and comfortable lodgings at the Athletes’ Village made it hard for athletes to leave the friendly atmosphere that many volunteers helped build on the Yukon College campus.

These volunteer jobs and many others were performed with professionalism, enthusiasm and with a smile. Because of these brave heroes dressed in orange, Whitehorse was truly showcased. Athletes who worked so hard to get here would had the chance to compete at the highest possible level.

Thank you volunteers, for making the Games a huge success.
