Volunteers for the 2007 Canada Winter Games will receive a Great Big Thank You on March 11th, highlighted by Canadian superstars Great Big Sea. Local band, the Licorice Whips will open the show.

“We want to show our volunteers that we appreciate their hard work,” said Dave Pearson, VP of the Games volunteer division. “To give up 24 or more hours of your own time for this event isn’t something we take lightly.”

Admission will be granted with your accreditation badge which means 4,000 Games volunteers can enjoy the concert for free. A limited number of tickets, 500, will be available for purchase by volunteers and limited to one per customer. Tickets will be sold for $35 and go on sale on March 4, 2007.

The doors of ATCO Place will be open at 6 pm. The show will be open to all ages and all volunteers are encouraged to come and celebrate the hard work they have done.

The presenting sponsors of the Great Big Thank You are Enbridge, Northwestel and Yukon Lotteries. Enbridge and Northwestel have both contributed $20,000 in cash to the thank you party. Yukon Lotteries is the sponsor of the 2007 Canada Winter Games volunteer program.
