The Quebec and Nova Scotia ringette squads kicked off the 2007 Canada Winter Games with their first meeting in the prelimary B division round Friday morning. Quebec took the win, 6-2 over Nova Scotia. Goalies Marie Eve Potvin (Quebec) and Sarah Burry (NS) faced similar challenges, with 31 and 29 shots on goal respectively. After a day of play, Ontario's ringette squad has two wins to its credit. Ontario met PEI on Friday morning, blanking the easterners 7-0. PEI goalie Olivia Ford had to fend off 82 shots on goal. In its second win Saturday, Ontario downed B.C. 9-2. Bryanna Kelly and Ashley Rheaume both posted two goals, and added four assists between them.
