Mascot Birthday Bash!

The 2007 Canada Winter Games mascots will turn two years old on January 20, 2007. Ship Yards Park will be rocking all afternoon as Yúka, Taiga and Uqila, along with a few of their closest furry friends, celebrate their second birthday.

Activities such as skating, tobogganing and races will take place and a bonfire will be lit.

Invitees include Safety Bear, Sparky the Dog, Klonduck Bill and Buckles. The event will be emceed by Remy Rodden, who will also provide some entertainment.

The event is geared to coincide with the launch of Winter Active, a national program designed to engage Canadians in active living during the winter months. The program is geared toward keeping Canada’s population feeling great all year long by encouraging people to walk, skate, sled or ski themselves towards a more rewarding winter season.
