This Tuesday and Thursday nights, the Canada Games will hold sport specific volunteer registration and orientation sessions.
Whitehorse has a thriving sports community and many people are interested in volunteering with their favourite sport, from cross-country skiing and boxing to Inuit and Dene Games. These sport specific volunteer sessions are for people who want to volunteer directly with their preferred sport. Thos interested will be able to register and attend an orientation session all in one evening.
All Canada Games volunteers are asked to attend an orientation session. This gives them an overview of the Games and provides all volunteers with some important information needed to volunteer. This week the Games are trying to get as many volunteers as possible through the orientation process before the holidays. The accreditation process will begin in the New Year.
Activities at these sessions include taking photos for volunteer accreditation tags, filling out Criminal Record Checks, and the Games volunteer orientation.
