Come to the Volunteer Fair!
2006, September 5th:

Excitement is building and the Games are approaching. Come join in the fun at the 2007 Canada Winter Games Volunteer Fair. Find out everything you ever wanted to know about volunteering for the Games this Saturday, September 23 at the Canada Games Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fair will begin with a fencing display and the fun will continue all day. Sport demonstrations and cultural performances will run throughout the day. Meet the mascots, see highland dancers and catch some more fencing to close out the afternoon.

Also taking place on the weekend of Sept. 23rd is the 2007 Canada Winter Games figure skating test event. While you’re visiting the Volunteer Fair be sure to catch some of this electrifying competition as we prepare for national competitors in approximately five months.

We have recently exceeded 1,600 volunteers but we only stopped to celebrate the enormous accomplishment for a moment because we still have a long way to go. Our goal is 5,000 and you can help us get there.

Volunteering for the first Games north of 60 is a once in a lifetime opportunity that provides practical experience. This is your chance to support your community, amateur sport in Canada and be an ambassador of the Games.

If you’ve been waiting to volunteer, it’s not too late; now is the time. Are you still deciding what you want to volunteer for? Come and learn more about the abundance of volunteer roles still available for these Games. Don’t miss your opportunity to volunteer in the role of your choice, we are assigning volunteers now.
