The Yukon Arts Centre was filled to capacity with patrons, parents and VIPs Thursday night to see the offering from the Canada Winter Games 6th National Artist Program.
Artists, performers, dancers, photographers and filmmakers from all the northern territories and provinces contributed to this two act live multi media production.
The 39 performers molded a show in two weeks under the guidance of local mentors and Artistic Director Lisa Stevens interjected herself in to their experience sharing storyline.
The youth centered and energetic show flowed with the use of films, videos and live music and a welcome surprise was their blend of rap and operatic voice. Everyone got an opportunity to shine. The “Lunchtime Stomp” closed the 90 minute show to whoops of appreciation.
The visual arts created on the stage were highlighted in the Arts Centre lobby.
Two more shows were offered on Friday, March 9th.
