Strong opener for PEI
2007, March 5th:
Strong first and ninth ends ensured PEI the win in men's curling Monday. Skip Brent Gallant led his team to a sweeping 13-3 win over Ontario in opening action at Mt. McIntyre. He went on to lead the team to a second victory against Saskatchewan in later action.

Manitoba outshot Yukon 12-5, with six in the third end to secure the lead. In its second game, it blanked Northwest Territories 14-0. In other rink action, it was Saskatchewan over Northwest Territories 7 – 4.

Ontario shook off its tough beginning to take Northwest Territories 7 – 5, pulling ahead by one rock in the eighth end.

NL rocked Nova Scotia 9 – 4, while Quebec squeaked by New Brunswick 6-5., and Alberta snuck by B.C. 7-6. Men's curling action continues.
