Ringette Preparing for Final Games
2007, March 1st:
Ringette competition continued with one seeding game and four quarterfinals.
The morning’s seeding game between PEI and New Brunswick went to New Brunswick with a score of 8-1.
British Columbia took Manitoba in the first quarterfinal game, with Kristen Mihalcheon (BC) picking up a point and two assists and Danielle Krusel (BC) posting two goals. With the game tied at four, Lisa Timmerman popped the winner in for Manitoba with just under two minutes left in the game for a final score of 5-4.
In the second quarterfinal, Quebec beat out Saskatchewan with an 8-1 win. Jessica Pepper (Quebec) picked up a pair of goals and two assists for Quebec and Kyla Reay claimed Saskatchewan's only goal.
Alberta and Nova Scotia played in the third quarterfinal of the day, with Alberta posting an 8-1. Dailyn Bell picked up two goals and three assists and Kelsey Haworth claimed a hat trick and one assist for Alberta. Danielle Dempsey picked up the sole unassisted goal for Nova Scotia.
New Brunswick came away from the seeding game win to play in the fourth quarterfinal against Ontario. Ontario took them 10-3.
